MANNY PACQUIAO VS JOSH CLOTTEY LATEST ODDS AND BETTING TIPS
We’re just a week or so away from the widely-anticipated fight between Manny Pacquiao and Josh Clottey at Cowboys Stadium. The fight is schedule to start at 9 pm EST and the odds are favouring Pacquiao by a considerable margin with a KO or TKO win becoming the increasingly likely outcome of the fight.
You’ll find Manny Pacquiao’s odds at 1/6 for the outright victory while Clottey’s odds hover around 7/2 with top UK bookmaker William Hill. The draw, which doesn’t usually happen at this level, pays out at 25/1.
In regards to the method of result betting, you’ll get a pretty good gauge of how things are going to shape up. Manny Pacquiao trades at 6/4 to win via a decision or technical decision while a victory by KO or TKO pays out at a slim 6/10. This price has dropped since the fight was announced and it’s a clear indication of what the bookies expect to happen. Clottey to win via decision is 10/1 while a victory by KO or TKO rewards at a solid 7/1.
In my opinion, Clottey’s best hope for a victory would be a KO, as he has the punching power to make that happen. The only issue is whether he gets a truly clean shot at Pacquiao, whose hand-speed and ability to boss the ring should be able to offset Clottey’s power punches.
The round betting is equally interesting and Manny Pacquiao is as low as 14/1 to win in one of rounds 4-10. He is 16/1 to win in round 3 while he rises to 20/1 for rounds 1, 2 and 11. He trades at 25/1 for a dramatic last round victory. You saw it with Cotto.
Josh Clottey is listed at 40/1 for rounds 6-11 and 50/1 for rounds 1-4 and the final round. Those are solid prices and anybody looking to bet against Pacquiao will do well to back any of those selections. I think Clottey could pull something off late if things go his way, but I just have trouble betting against Manny.
My prediction is a Pacquiao victory by KO or TKO in the 10th or 11th round.
