MANNY PACQUIAO'S TRAINER GUARANTEES A KNOCK-OUT OVER MIGUEL COTTO
Manny Pacquiao's famously outspoken trainer Freddie Roach spoke to the media in the build-up to the WBO welterweight title fight next month. After initially predicting that the bout would be an absolute marathon, going down to a decision, Roach has changed his disposition and is now guaranteeing a Pacquiao victory by KO- this is big news for punters as Pacquiao is above evens for the KO or TKO victory. Despite the fight being two weeks away, Roach has declared Pacquiao "100 percent ready for the fight". He was also sure to add that "I look forward to the win." Roach was quick to point out that Cotto's weak point is his defence and, with the power that Manny is supposedly unleashing in training, he does not expect the Puerto Rican to cope with his presence and boxing ability. Manny Pacquiao is moving up in weight-class for this bout, looking to add a seventh world title in as many divisions. Manny Pacquiao is considered to be the undisputed best pound-for-pound fighter in the world at the moment- by some distance, as well. Pacquiao is a strong favourite for this fight, with a 1/2 listing against Cotto's 6/4. Cotto is well-known as a power puncher who boasts plenty of ring-savvy, but the real wildcard is Pacquiao's handspeed- which completely undid Ricky Hatton. The combination of power with the quick delivery by Pacquiao is something that no boxer has been able to match up against- it looks like the boxing public is even starting to look past this fight to Manny's next massive encounter. Odds on Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. are already released at Blue Square with a fight tentatively scheduled for December 1st, 2010. Mayweather is an odds-on favourite at 4/9 with Pacquiao at 13/8.
