MARK HUGHES ALL BUT CONFIRMED FOR NEXT FULHAM MANAGER
After one of the most all-over-the-place managerial searches I’ve seen in quite some time, Mark Hughes is now effectively confirmed by virtually every major betting market as the Next Fulham Manager. Hopefully you took our advice when he was sitting around 18.0 a few weeks back.
You’ll find that the Betfair market remains open with Hughes now trading around 1.02 and everybody else trading at anywhere from 50.0 to 1000.0. It’s going to be a very interesting year with Sparky at the helm, but I’m confident that he’ll be able to get the job done and fill the shoes left by Roy Hodgson.
With Hughes set to go, the punters are turning their attention to just how well Mark Hughes is going to perform this year. Fulham are trading around 17.0 to break the top six and qualify for Europe directly. That would be a crowning achievement for the Cottagers and, with the calibre of players they have at their disposal, I would say it’s a long-shot but not out of the question.
I think that Fulham’s ability to crack the top six will be more about another team cocking it up than Fulham performing exceptionally well. One of Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal or City will have to make way.
Additionally, the key variable in Fulham’s fortunes is likely to be how they perform against the upper mid-table sides like Everton and Aston Villa. If The Cottagers can trounce their mid-table rivals and take a few points off the big four then I’m confident that they can certainly pull it off. Fulham are 50.0 to break into the top 3.
Fulham certainly don’t look relegation candidates with Betfair currently showing their price hovering around the 7.0 mark. Compare that to Blackpool who are trading at a best price of 1.3.
In regards to the Premier League match betting, Fulham are favoured to outperform both Stoke City but not Sunderland, with a price of 1.63 to top the Potters and a 2.02 price to outperform against the Black Cats. I think the latter is a very interesting bet for Fulham fans.
No matter which way you look at it, a new era is upon Craven Cottage and I’m confident that Hughes will live up to expectations.
