MERVYN KING VS JAMES WADE 2010 PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS TIPS
Mervyn King and James Wade will take centre stage at Glasgow’s SECC Arena tonight in a repeat of last year’s Premier League final. Wade won that encounter and took the title of Premier League champion but he has been somewhat lacklustre at the oche since then, whilst King has gone from strength to strength.
After a dismal start to the defence of this Premier League crown Wade had looked like getting right back on track after a period of four undefeated games which included back to back wins. But last week against an in form Adrian Lewis he just didn’t have the answers to the questions posed. He will need to rediscover his best form tonight if he is to get anything from his game against The King. King is the ever so slight favourite at 2.4 (11/8) on Betfair with Wade available at 2.6 (13/8), the proximity of their odds in the betting is a good reflection of how tight this game could be and backing the draw at 5.0 (4/1) looks to be the best value in the match odds market.
The bookies can’t separate them in the highest checkout market either, with both available at 10/11 at Betfred. That price on King however, may provide a bit of value. Neither player hit a checkout of 100 or more last week, but in the seven weeks prior (the first half of the league) King hit eight 100+ checkouts in comparison to Wade’s six and also had a checkout percentage of 49 in contrast to Wade’s meagre 36%. Back King to record the highest checkout at 10/11.
As for the 180’s betting, well that is as evenly matched as the previously mentioned markets. Bwin go 5/4 the pair and 7/2 on them hitting the same amount as each other. Wade gets the nod from me in this market; even when amid his worst run of form at the beginning of the campaign he was producing a good number of maximums. At 5/4, get on Wade to be the power scorer of the night.
