MIAMI MASTERS NADAL AND RODDICK BID FOR FINAL

Rafael Nadal aims to secure a premier position in the Miami Masters final movement on Sunday at the expense of home favourite Andy Roddick.
Nadal takes a 5-2 lifetime edge over the American, which includes a string of three consecutive wins since the semi-finals of the London Queen’s Club (2008). Importantly, Nadal has not lost a set to Roddick during this positive run.
William Hill is offering all sorts of action on this blockbuster semi-final. Nadal is at offers of 2/5 to win outright and Roddick carries a 7/4 price to win outright.
Going into this match, Nadal has the on paper edge, Roddick the home edge. Both are equally on form though, which makes this match tough to call in the eyes of many.
For Nadal, this is his second consecutive Masters semi (he reached the semis in Indian Wells where he lost to Ljubicic). Roddick on the other hand finished runner-up last week in Indian Wells when he lost to Ljubicic in the final; he is a victory away from the finale.
Set betting options are available as well. Nadal to win in straights is offered at 11/10 (and is the popular bet considering his trend) while to win 2-1 is trading at 13/5. Roddick to win 2-0 is offered at 4/1 and to win in three sets is offered at 9/2.
The first set and second set are going for 8/15 odds each to Nadal while at 11/8 odds each to Roddick.
Score casting covers all options. Nadal to win an unthinkable 6-0 in the first set is offered at a whopping 50/1, and an equally unlikely score of 6-1 is trading at 25/1. Reasonable options begin at 6-2 listed at 14/1 and move ahead to 6-3 and 6-4 offered at 5/1 and 9/2, respectively.
Roddick is offered at 50/1 and 33/1 to take the first set 6-0 and 6-1, respectively. To win the first set 6-2 is also large, listed at 22/1. Where Roddick is reasonably priced is to win 6-3 or 6-4, offered at 8/1 and 6/1, respectively.
A close affair decided by a few points would be at scores of 7-5 or 7-6, listed at 12/1 and 4/1 respectively to Nadal. Interestingly, Tiebreak guru Roddick is marginally disadvantage at 5/1 for a 7-6 score, natch; and equally so for a 7-5 score at 16/1.
