There is a very interesting selection of English Premier League fixtures kicking off in mid-week, along with a full slate of matches on the weekend as well. This is a great opportunity for sides to start building up momentum and kicking on as the season starts to build towards its business end. As the transfer window prepares to snap shut, there will be a flurry of deal making between now and the final match-up of this tight run of fixtures on February 3.

A few of these contests look especially appealing from a betting perspective, but it makes sense to keep in mind any potential transfer activity that might happen between now and then as players who could potentially make an instant impact will be signing quickly and looking to debut quickly – particularly those for clubs in the bottom half of the table.
We will be picking out some of the betting-looking fixtures and taking a look at how they could potentially shape up.
Sunderland vs Swansea on January 29 looks like it could be a very competitive affair as Sunderland have started picking things up a bit more lately and look to be a bit more solid. Swansea are having a very good season so far and they will be going into their League Cup Final as the distinct favourites to hoist the trophy. This will also secure them a guarantee of European football next year. These are heady times at the Liberty Stadium.
They go into their match against Sunderland with a quality 2/1 price tag. Sunderland go in as the 6/4 favourites as the host side while the draw also trades at 2/1. This one could be a momentum game for Swansea and they will be buoyed by their ability to get goals from nowhere thanks to ace striker (and likely signing of the season) Michu.
Arsenal vs Liverpool on January 30 also looks to be a good betting opportunity with Arsenal going in as the 7/5 home favourite against Liverpool's 21/10 margin. The draw sits at the same price and this one is going to be a very testy affair with both sides in serious need of points to keep pace with the others challenging for the top four positions. The pressure is starting to increase on both Arsene Wenger and Brendan Rodgers as the season continues.
Liverpool, in particular, are still reeling from their loss to Oldham in the FA Cup. The criticism aimed at team selections, particularly pre-match team selections, has been a recurring issue throughout much of the year.
