MID-WEEK FOOTBALL INTERNATIONAL LATEST ODDS AND BETTING TIPS
There’s some genuinely solid bets available this week in the International friendlies and there are a few really exciting fixtures to look forward to. England vs Egypt has attracted plenty of attention for all the reasons, even more now thanks to Ryan Shawcross, but I actually think the Brazil vs Ireland match is going to be even more interesting. I actually think the Irish may put together a real performance against the South American powerhouses and, since they have nothing to lose, could be in for a heck of an evening.
If you are feeling especially biased towards the home nations, you can back an impressive five-fold on Scotland x England x Wales x Ireland x Northern Ireland at 158.43. The only shocker in there is Ireland to beat Brazil, but stranger things have happened. You can take the Irish out of the equation and still get a solid 24.37 on the fourfold.
Brazil vs Ireland actually kicks off tomorrow instead of Wednesday and you’ll find Brazil listed as the 1.44 favourites to win the match. Ireland pays a lengthy 6.5 while the draw carries a 3.6 price.
Robinho is set for an outing here and he is 2.2 to score at anytime alongside Nilmar. I think that Brazil may field a second-string side and that could be what gives Ireland their opening. Kevin Doyle and Anthony Stokes both trade at 4.5 to get on the scoresheet.
England vs Egypt’s odds are slanted heavily in favour of England at 1.36 for the outright win. Egypt trades at 8.0 while the draw can be backed at 3.75. I don’t think Wayne Rooney will start this match, but he could make an appearance from the bench. I think Fabio Capello has named a more experimental side and he will be looking to try a few things out with some of his fringe players. That can make friendlies somewhat difficult to wager on, but I don’t see England slipping up here. A 3-1 correct score in favour of the Lions pays out at 11.0.
Wayne Rooney is odds-on to score anytime at 1.57.
Wales vs Sweden is a tricky tie, but I think the Welsh might be buoyed by playing in front of the home fans. You’ll find them listed at 2.75 against favoured Sweden at 2.2. The draw is listed at 3.25 and that could be a very real possibility in my opinion. Robert Earnshaw is 3.25 to score at anytime while Sam Vokes can be backed at 3.5. Gareth Bale is in a rich vein of form and he trades at 6.0- that’s not a bad price for a player who should find some space and will be taking free-kicks.
Albania vs Northern Ireland is wide open with the hosts listed at 2.37 against Norn Eire’s 2.5. The draw is 3.3 and if both teams don’t play particularly well I think this is a potential 0-0 snoozer. The Northern Irish are a greater side than the sum of their parts and David Healy is a solid bet to score anytime at 2.5.
Scotland vs Czech Republic is a tricky one, but you’ll find the Scots just behind the visitors at a 2.6 price. Czech Republic are the slim favourites at 2.37 while the draw is listed at 3.2. I think this one could go either direction and if the Czechs are allowed to play a physical game and take advantage of set-pieces they could be tough to beat. Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller share a 2.75 price to score at anytime.
