Milan vs Real Madrid Looks the Pick From Today's Champions League Action

There were some absolutely epic encounters in yesterday’s Champions League fixtures, and you can bank on a few more entertaining affairs today as Matchday 4 continues to unfold. The groups are starting to take shape and there are still a few of them that boast a number of different permutations while other groups are effectively done and dusted.

Basel vs Roma looks wide open and the host side actually get the edge here from the bookmakers. You’ll find FC Basel as the slim favourites but you reckon that Roma could get a result if they play to their potential. This group is wide open in the race for second spot and Roma will be kicking themselves if they don’t pull it off.

Cluj vs Bayern Munich is looking like a lopsided victory on the horizon for the Germans. The bookmakers price them at odds on but an away fixture against Cluj isn’t necessarily a walk in the park. If Bayern score first this one will be more or less over.

Chelsea are big favourites to dispose of Spartak Moscow at home, and the Blues have been in great form as of late so you understand why they’re the distinct favourites here. Spartak shouldn’t be underestimated though but this should be a comfortable victory.

Zilina vs Marseille looks like a stroll for the French side and this is more or less a must-win situation for them if they want to finish second in the group behind Chelsea. Both sides have only scored once so a 0-0 draw wouldn’t be a shock.

Milan vs Real Madrid is definitely the feature match-up today and Real Madrid are the nearly odds-on favourites for the win here. Cristiano Ronaldo is scoring goals for fun and their supporting cast should be able to stifle some of Milan’s better players. The hosts could pull this off but it will take a near perfect performance.

Auxerre vs Ajax looks more or less even and you should probably avoid this one in your accumulator selections if you’re unfamiliar with both sides. Auxerre only have a single goal to their credit in this year’s campaign so you’d have to say advantage- Ajax.

Shakhtar vs Arsenal is a fairly close fixture as well with the Gunners getting the slim edge from the bookmakers here despite being on the road. Arsenal have the group pretty much sown up but this is the toughest fixture they’ll face in their group so a draw may be the safer option.
