Murray is worth a mint to a Will Hill punter
MURRAY IS WORTH A MINT TO TENNIS PUNTER.......A William Hill customer who spotted Andrew Murray's potential well before he burst into the public consciousness is hoping for a £16,000 payout after backing the youngster to win Wimbledon by the year 2010 - at odds of 200/1.Mike Griffiths, of Ruthin in Denbighshire, Wales, staked £60 on Murray to win Wimbledon by 2010 and a further £40 on him to win any of the four 'Grand Slam' tournaments by 2010 at 100/1 with Hills in August, 2004.'Mr Griffiths is obviously an ace talent spotter whose long range bet is set to land him a real Murray mint' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe. The 200/1 about Andy winning Wimbledon by 2010 has now been slashed to 8/1 by Hills, and the 100/1 for him to win any Grand Slam event in the same timespan is now 4/1.***Hills are quoting Murray at 2/1 to beat David Nalbandian in his next match, 33/1 to win Wimbledon this year, and 12/1 to become BBC TV Sports Personality of the Year.
