Natagora has maturity for Cheveley challenge

The Cambridgeshire meeting hits its straps this afternoon with the Cheveley Park and Middle Park Stakes. The filly's renewal has been won by some real top notchers in the past few years with Airwave, Indian Ink and Queen's Logic all getting into the winners enclosure. This year looks a tricky race to unravel however, as there is no superstar unbeaten filly in the line-up to take a view on, and the betting shape of the race doesn't look like it favours the punter. Visit heads the betting at 11/4 probably due to her Princess Margaret victory at Ascot in July. Sir Michael Stoute's filly subsequently was runner-up in the Lowther Stakes in August finishing half-a-length ahead of Jermey Noseda's Fleeting Spirit. Fleeting Spirit lines up in opposition again today and despite the bookmakers making her 7/2, behind the favourite, there was really nothing between them in that contest. For those who bet on the spreads, it may be worth siding with the Noseda's filly in a matchbet. The one who potentially looks the best value however, is Pascal Bary's French raider Natagora at 5/1. Sure, she doesn't look to have the improvement of the others, but she has several Group races under her belt. She failed last time out against the colts in the Prix Morny at Deauville in soft ground which was an eye-catching effort. She impressed with her attitude in that performance, and her maturity could be just a little too much for this lot when they go into The Dip at HQ. Verdict: 1pt Natagora 5/1 (SportingBet) (Editor's Note: There is no stand out runner in the Cheveley Park Stakes so there is value to be had. Follow all the latest prices on SportingBet!)
