NEW YORK RED BULLS VS TOTTENHAM ODDS SHOW THIERRY HENRY WELL-PRICED TO SCORE

This is easily the most fascinating fixture of the day and it’s almost poetic that Thierry Henry’s North American debut will come against an English club – a London club at that. While Spurs are priced currently as the even money favourites to take the victory in this friendly match I actually think that the odds on the Red Bulls more than justify a wager, especially if Thierry Henry is confirmed to start, which I think he will be.
The match kicks off at 01:30 UK time and 8:30pm Eastern Time.

Thierry Henry’s odds to score against Spurs are listed at 3.25 anytime with Ladbrokes and they are more or less the only bookmaker offering up goalscorer odds on this match and they’re only doing it for Henry as a specials market. Generally bookmakers don’t list goalscorer odds on friendly matches as you can never really be sure who’s going to play. You can usually tuck into some live goalscorer odds but seldom ever pre-match. This is a luxury.
Thierry Henry is 8.0 to score the first or last goal and you can also get him at 9.0 to score two goals or more. He’s 51.0 to score what would be an incredibly famous hat-trick and he’s also 15.0 to score a direct free kick. He’s 8.0 to score a penalty and 3.25 to be booked. You can also back him at 34.0 to be sent off… Handball, anyone?
Red Bulls odds to win the match trade at 3.20 with the draw listed just behind that at a 3.25 margin. Spurs are paying out at 8.0 to win either 1-0. 2-0 or 2-1 while they are 15.0 to win 3-0 or 3-1.
A 1-1 draw is the current betting favourite with a 6.5 price tag while a 2-2 result is listed at 15.0. 1-0 to the Red Bulls would pay out at 9.0 while a 2-1 result (the most likely one in my opinion) is priced at 11.0.
I think this one should be played at a real good tempo and I reckon that Red Bulls may just see this as a winnable fixture. You know that Thierry Henry wants to start his US career with a bang and a goalscoring performance tonight would garner him a great spot on ESPN the following morning.
