Newcastle v Chelsea Preview
"We're coming up to a very testing time and I would like to think my players feel as frustrated and angry as I do. I want to have a fight with someone, I want to go out and kick a water bottle or something." Nice to see that Graeme Souness is his usual balanced self again. So will all this prevaricating inspire Newcastle tonight. It just could. After their home hiding to Fulham, Souness will be spitting fire tonight in the dressing room before the game. Lets look at the betting. At Stan James they bet Newcastle??6/4, The Draw?.5/2, Chelsea??11/8. It appears quite even between these mainly because Chelsea will probably not have their strongest team out??viewing this as the lesser of the four possible Trophies out there. But their squad is still full of talent and whatever side they put out they'll give Newcastle a test. A Newcastle backlash is something that Chelsea will be wary of. In fact if you look at the Fulham game they produced a hatful of chances and but for Fulham's keeper having the game of his life, they could easily have scored four themselves. We suspect there will be goals tonight. There is too much talent on show for there not to be. Over two goals is 10/11, but Over 50 on the Shirt Numbers is 13/8?.( Don't forget there'll be some high squad numbers in the mix?) There are no major injury problems for either team, although Chelsea are still without Drogba. The bottom line is that Newcastle will want this more than Chelsea. They have to try and win this, as a safety net for Europe next year, whereas Chelsea don't have all these issues necessarily to worry about. It should be a cracking atmosphere at St James Park. The Geordies love turning over the Cockneys and it will be great television. We might even get a fight between Souness and Mourinho??well he said he wanted to fight someone??I think Mourinho would take him on as well.
