NEXT CELTIC MANAGER BETTING
The market for the next Celtic manager is much more wide open than the one for the Chelsea manager- which Carlo Ancelotti appears to have wrapped up. There's quite a few long shots here, but even the most likely candidates are still paying out at a very respectable price. If you listen to the punters, Tony Mowbray is the favourite and he carries a 4.1 price. Owen Coyle is Mowbray's chief rival and you can back him at 4.3 to take the job. For me though, the value bet is Slaven Bilic at 10.0. His price has been cut over the past 48 hours as it emerged that he was reportedly "interested" in the position. I think this is a likely move for him with West Ham being really the only other club I could see him being interested in managing at this point. He's looking for a stepping stone to a big 4 Premiership club or a top continental outfit and I think that a two year stint at Celtic with some demonstrable success would do wonders for his aspirations. Craig Levein is just a hairsbreath ahead of Bilic in the price market and he can be backed at 9.8. Mark McGhee is another contender and sits at 19.5. About a year ago, Roy Keane may have been much better-priced than his current odds of 24.0. The same could also be said for Alan Curbishley (this would have been a pretty good fit) and he's available at a long 36.0. Other contenders include Glenn Hoddle at 46.0, Roberto Martinez at 32.0, John Collins at 42.0 and Steve Bruce at an impressive 110.0. I don't think Mowbray or Coyle are very inspired selections and I could really see Slaven Bilic take over at Celtic.
