The betting markets are starting to heat up as speculation starts to emerge about who will be filling in Hodgson's shoes. Many of the people in the FA have insisted that hey have a significant preference for an English manager, but many football fans throughout the country have insisted that they are happy just to have a quality man in place to take England forward in the 2018 World Cup.

It had emerged that Jurgen Klinsmann was being courted by the FA but now it appears as though that speculation has cooled off as the former USA manager begins to find a new role for himself. He was trading at a nearly odds-on price just a couple of days ago but now finds himself trading at a listing as high as 4/1 with a number of top bookmakers though a couple of them continue to list him at a slim 9/4 price tag.

The marquee name right now is a candidate who has had his eye on the England role for quite some time and Sam Allardyce will view this as a natural step forward for himself while a number of football fans throughout he world are scratching their heads and saying “Big Sam?” to themselves.

It really does appear to be happening though since several bookmakers today have taken him from a 6/4 listing all the way down to a 10/11 price tag at the time of this writing. If indications emerge tomorrow that Allardyce, a former Bolton manager, will be the main candidate going forward then this is truly a whole new era for English football.
