NEXT FULHAM MANAGER BETTING ODDS SHOW SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON AS CLEAR FAVOURITE

I’ve got to tell you – the search for the next Fulham manager has easily been one of the wildest and woolliest betting markets of the 2010 off-season. Martin Jol, who started off yesterday with a price below even money has now risen dramatically to a 20.0 price tag in the open market on Betfair.

It literally looks like we’re right back where we started from as former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson is now favoured to be named next Fulham Manager. You’ll find Sven sitting at a 3.25 price tag and holding steady.
Dave Jones has always been the second favourite for this gig and his always-a-bridesmaid-syndrome continues as he trades at a 6.2 price amidst fairly heavy volume. Alan Curbishley now looks as though he may be back in the running and he’s priced at an 8.2 listing. He will be bouncing around all day but I wouldn’t advise backing him.
Mark Hughes has always been my outside bet and he’s dropped considerably over the past 12 hours. You could have had him at 17.5 yesterday but now you’re looking at a much slimmer 9.2. I think he’s the happy medium for Fulham fans and I reckon he could do a very good job at Craven Cottage.
Martin Jol’s exit from the picture means that American head-coach Bob Bradley will once again be linked prominently with the Cottagers. He is down to 22.0 from 60.0 yesterday. This is still one of the longest shots on the board but I think a lot of people are behind the idea and it really does make sense from a branding perspective.
I would give it some time and wait for additional news to come out or at least a statement from some of the candidates. If you are looking to back a horse right now here, then my money would likely be on Mark Hughes- he’s available, he’s got the track record and I think the fans will rely behind him.
This definitely serves as testament that there are no sure things in transfer betting- especially when it comes to managers.
