NEXT FULHAM MANAGER BETTING SHOWS MARTIN JOL PRICE DROPS TO ODDS-ON
It looks like it's fairly safe to say that Fulham will be spared the services of Sven Goran Eriksson, but American fans pulling for Bob Bradley may wind up being a bit disappointed by this one. Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Jol is now considered the odds-on favourite for the Next Fulham Manager position.
This is a rather late-breaking event as all the market movement has unfolded over the last few hours. As it currently stands, Martin Jol is listed at a 1.8 price tag and you can expect him to continue dropping over the next few hours.
The price drop is likely based on a news story in the Daily Mirror that claims he has emerged as a very late contender. BBC Sport included this in their Gossip Column and there you've got the anatomy of your price drop.
Sven Goran Eriksson was listed at nearly 3.0 yesterday and is now priced at a lengthy 10.0. It was becoming increasingly clear that Fulham fans weren't backing Eriksson, who has looked rather shaky over the past few years and hasn't really increased his credentials anywhere.
Ottmar Hitzfeld has risen to a 19.0 price tag from around 9.0 yesterday so he looks more or less out of the running.
Bob Bradley's odds to be next Fulham manager really haven't moved around that much, rising to a 22.0 price from 20.0 yesterday. He came into contention having dropped from 60.0 to the aforementioned 20.0 listing.
Dave Jones remains the only other serious contender with a 7.0 price.
I think there's still enough value on Jol if you get in there quickly, but if this is all just based on a Daily Mirror speculation article then you may want to hang onto your money. I think Jol would take the position and would likely do pretty well with it. I still would prefer to see Bob Bradley take the gig though.
