NEXT FULHAM MANAGER LATEST ODDS SHOW SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON AS CLEAR FAVOURITE
As one door shuts another one opens and the Next Liverpool Manager saga has just ended- prompting a search for Roy Hodgson's replacement at Fulham. This definitely adds some question marks about the Cottagers performance next year and I can see some very interesting bets being made about their finishing position for the 2010/11 English Premier League season.
As it currently stands, Betfair backers have Sven Goran Eriksson priced as a clear favourite- trading at a 3.3 price tag amidst decent early volume. I think this selection could worry some Fulham fans as Eriksson really hasn't accomplished much in the past few years.
Alan Curbishley is another close option and he is listed as the favourite by some popular bookmakers. Betfair has him firmly in second place with a 5.7 listing.
Mark Hughes odds to be next Fulham manager are just behind Curbs with a 5.8 price at the time of this writing. I think that Fulham fans could get behind Hughes, who was really given the short end of the stick at Manchester City.
The odds take a big jump after Hughes with Sean O'Driscoll priced at a 16.0 margin. You'll find Gianfranco Zola is also in the hunt with a 17.5 price. I think some fans might be lukewarm about Zola but he would likely get the job done decently if selected.
Chris Coleman to return is priced at a lengthy 42.0 while Carlos Queiroz is worth keeping an eye on with his role as Portugal Manager now in doubt. You'll find him trading at a 12.0 price having just dropped recently. He is certainly one to keep your eye on. Paul Jewell is listed at 23.0 at the moment.
I'm fairly confident that we will see this one wrapped up pretty quickly- likely within a week after the World Cup finishing. Right now, I'd say the value play is probably Mark Hughes, but I really think Carlos Queiroz is the dark horse and is great value at the moment.
