NEXT FULHAM MANAGER ODDS SHOW MARTIN JOL PRICE RISING WHILE DAVE JONES TRADES AT 7/1
After rather firm speculation emerged that Martin Jol may not be as set for the Fulham job as we may have all previously thought, the sentiment seems to be confirmed on Betfair as the layers appear to be in nearly total retreat from Jol. The former Tottenham manager has seen his price rise off a slim 1.08 to 1.47 in the first few hours of the day.
I think once Jol's price rises above 1.6 it's going to be game-on in terms of a run that will likely see it rise back above even money. You can count on this one taking a few more days to unfold now, although some media reports are saying Jol could take over as soon as Thursday while others say that Ajax have been able to persuade him to stay with the promise of an increased transfer kitty for the new season.
Regardless, Jol's price increase means that odds are dropping elsewhere. The sudden collapse of Gianfranco Zola's odds yesterday turned out to be a false alarm and the former West Ham United boss has seen his price increased ramatically to 22.0 from a low of 7.0 yesterday.
Dave Jones' odds for Next Fulham Manager have been arguably the most consistent with a price hovering between 6-10 for the entirety of the market. Jones is currently holding at 8.0 and I could see him trending down to at least 5.0 by days end of Jol's price hits even money.
Good news for American fans as Bob Bradley looks to have taken another price drop with a 34.0 listing looking a lot better than where he was yesterday. This is still a supreme long shot, but if this manager shortage at Fulham carries on into the new season they may be looking to get any warm body into the role and I think they may find the American a good commercial fit as well as a tactical one.
I would suggest that if Jol's price continues to retreat then you may want to keep your eye fixed on Mark Hughes price of 38.0. I think he's the best shot for an outside selection on Next Fulham Manager.
As it currently stands all the volume is on Jol and that volume is increasing on a minute by minute basis.
