Even the bookmakers don’t seem entirely convinced who will actually wind up managing Leicester going forward as no real stand-out candidate has emerged up until this point in time.

However, it is worth noting that the bookmakers have just clipped Martin O’Neill from a 25/1 price tag all the way down to 5/2 and this comes without any real formal news or anything beyond some social media chatter. You would be tempted to believe the price cut was prompted by several large bets made at random locations - likely from somebody who is in the know.

It remains to be seen what the timeline is for actually replacing Pearson but you reckon that they will want to have somebody in place, at the very latest, by mid July. While O’Neill’s price ranks amongst the shortest prices now, it appears as though the betting favourite (albeit a tepid one) is none other than Guus Hiddink with many bookmakers listing the former Chelsea manager at anywhere from 9/10 to 11/8 right now.

Neil Lennon is very much in the frame as well but, again, his price is rather lukewarm with a range of prices between 7/4 and 4/1. He is obviously one to keep your eye on and his price has been steady as the market has developed. He would be the type of manager you would expect Leicester to sign as the idea of Guus Hiddink managing a relegation battling side just doesn’t conjure up the type of visual that you would normally expect.

Steve Cotterill is in the mix as well and his price is all over the map with some books listing him at a 5/2 and others going all the way up to a 6/1 margin. Combined with O’Neill these are the most plausibly priced contenders with the odds then taking a big jump for another former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo who trades at a 17/1 margin.
