NEXT LIVERPOOL MANAGER BETTING ODDS SHOW ROY HODGSON AT 1.3 AND DROPPING
According to the BBC, it appears as though we may be finally coming to the light at the end of the tunnel in the race to become the Next Liverpool Manager. Following the departure of Rafa Benitez, there have been several different contenders who have all been favoured at one time or another.
The BBC "understands" that Roy Hodgson is set to be offered the Liverpool job by Thursday. Personally, unless somebody at the BBC has cocked-up some internet rumor, I think Hodgson will take the gig.
I'm confident that if Hodgson wasn't going to take the job then he would have distanced himself from it by now. I'm not sure whether Muhammad Al-Fayed has done enough to entice Hodgson to stay and I think he would likely relish the chance to get the Reds back into the Champions League.
As it currently stands on Betfair, Hodgson's price has tumbled to a 1.3 margin and that's about the shortest price he's been listed at since trading began in this market.
The volume has been increasing fairly quickly and I think that once we get some type of statement from Hodgson then the market will likely dry up a bit.
In all honesty, I wouldn't be particularly surprised if some type of late drama happened here with somebody possibly factoring into the equation a bit late. It also appears as though Liverpool don't want to wait for the Fabio Capello decision and that's why the appointment may come on Thursday.
Manuel Pellegrini is priced at 7.6 while Kenny Dalglish is listed at 29.0. Guus Hiddink trades at 25.0 while Sven Goran Eriksson is listed at 26.0.
I think we may finally have our answer on who's going to be the Next Liverpool Manager and you should probably lock in your bets as soon as possible if you think Hodgson is going to be the one to get the nod.
