NEXT LIVERPOOL MANAGER LATEST ODDS SHOW DALGLISH AND HODGSON NEARLY EVEN

Kenny Dalglish continues to be linked with the Liverpool job despite recent word indicating that the Liverpool management will be looking to Fulham manager Roy Hodgson to lead the side back into Champions League contention. I think that Martin O'Neill is effectively out of the running right now and the Betfair layers seem to agree with O'Neill priced at around 10.0. 

Sven Goran Eriksson is sitting at 11.0, but I don't really think there's any way he's going to take the gig unless the deal for a first choice manager falls through due to contractual issues or something ridiculous like that. I think it's the only way the Swede will take over Liverpool, no matter how much he wants the job. 
Roy Hodgson's odds to become next Liverpool manager are trading at around 2.3 right now and that's quite a drop from where he was a few days ago when he was up in the high 5.0's. 
The big story in the betting markets right now though has been the surge in betting volume heading towards former manager and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish. 
The effect is certainly being felt on Betfair as Dalglish's odds to take over have plummeted from around 7.0 to a low of 2.78. That's a substantial drop in a very short period of time and I think that late action needs to be respected. You have to ask yourself whether the management will see this as a way to get the fans back on their side. 
The general consensus seems to be that Hodgson is the conservative choice and Dalglish is the romantic's option. I have a feeling that the Liverpool management might be ready for a role of the dice- and the punters on Betfair certainly seem to agree.
