NEXT LIVERPOOL MANAGER ODDS INDICATING ROY HODGSON WILL GET THE JOB

If the betting odds are to be believed then Roy Hodgson is the next Liverpool manager. Over the past 24 hours we saw the big collapse happen on the open market at Betfair as backers piled onto Hodgson- adding a fair amount of volume in a very brief period. 

While Hodgson's price is bouncing around all over the place between the 1.35-1.4 margins, he is still staying steadily below 1.4 and that's a sharp drop in price from the 1.88 he had dropped to on Monday. 
Manuel Pellegrini is a name that emerged last weekend as potential successor to Rafael Benitez, and it looked as though the Liverpool faithful were a bit more receptive to him than they have been to Hodgson, who some Kop fans don't consider up to the stature of their club. 
In all fairness, I can see where folks like that are coming from as Hodgson has really just had one above average season- and that was in Europe's second tier competition. It will be interesting to see how he steps up to handle the gig, and it will also be even more interesting to see which players are heading for the exit doors. 
You can stick back Manuel Pellegrini at an 8.6 price while Kenny Dalglish has odds of 38.0 to be named Next Liverpool Manager. Former favourite Martin O'Neill trades at a massive 80.0 price. 
It appears as though the market has nearly made its mind up. 1.39 still offers up a bit of profit if you are extremely confident that Hodgson will take this one. Generally the Betfair markets aren't wrong about these types of things and with Pellegrini doubling in price over just a day or two you can start to see how there are really no other candidates anymore other than Roy Hodgson.
