NEXT LIVERPOOL MANAGER ODDS ON BETFAIR SHOW MARTIN O'NEILL AS THE SLIM FAVOURITE

So Rafael Benitez has finally vacated his post as Liverpool manager and the fun and games of next manager betting can now commence. In reality it began this morning when the news that the Liverpool board had offered Rafael Benitez a severance package was met with many bookmakers scampering around to decide on who might replace the Spaniard.

Now, after a variety of conflicting odds and opinions it appears that the bookmakers have settled on three candidates at the head of the market, those being Martin O’Neill, Kenny Dalglish and Roy Hodgson.
The credentials of each of those men are very different and for that very reason all are available at very similar odds, and will continue to be so until either man or the Liverpool board speak out.
Martin O’Neill has done a sterling job at Aston Villa turning them into a top seven club who can now challenge for a top four place. He has the experience of managing expectations when he delivered three SPL Championships and four domestic cup wins as well as taking Celtic to the UEFA Cup final in 2003 earlier in his career. He is sure to be high on the wish list but it depends whether he is ready to leave Aston Villa, and in turn that depends upon whether or not he is forced to let James Milner leave the club.
O’Neill is currently available to back at 5.0 (4/1) on Betfair to be the next Liverpool manager.
Kenny Dalglish would be the choice of the romantics. Having won countless honours as both a player and a manager at Anfield he has the hearts and respect of the Liverpool fans. However, he has been out of management now for 10 years and that alone makes appointing him a risky decision.
Dalglish is currently a 6.0 (5/1) chance with Betfair.
Finally, the man of the moment Roy Hodgson who has worked wonders at Craven Cottage, taking them from Premier League also rans to Europa League finalists in the space of just two years. It is also over ten years since he managed at the very top of the game and whether he can take the next step up and manage big egos and even bigger expectations at this stage of his career is a matter which is also open to debate.
Hodgson is also currently a 6.0 (5/1) chance on Betfair.
There are pluses and negatives for each of the leading runners in the next Liverpool manager betting and at this very early stage there are sure to be many more twists and turns to come.
