- By A.J. Ryder on December 19, 2018 16:12 GMTWhile it May not have come at a huge surprise to a lot of football observers it certainly rocked the headlines early on yesterday when it was announced that Jose Mourinho had been sacked for Manchester United for a variety of different reasons.
It may have had a lot to do with the fact that United had lost recently to Liverpool and had been playing some relatively uninspiring football as of late. Or it could have been in the fact that he appears to have lost the dressing room with a number of top players and seemingly pining for Mourinho's departure.
Not the least of those players is super star Paul Pogba who has had a very tumultuous relationship with the Portuguese manager and even was forced to delete an Instagram post shortly after Mourinho was announced as having left Manchester United.
Attention obviously now turns towards who is going to be lining up to take over the Manchester United manager's position on a permanent basis. It appears as though Ole Gunnar Solkjaer will be taking over the United stewardship on a semi permanent basis since his Norwegian side is currently off for the season and he remains available.
The Norwegian player is obviously a legend of Manchester United and has some solid management experience but was definitely shown to be a little bit of this a few years ago when managing in the English Premier League.
