Why have so many great midfielders when you frequently play 4-3-3? The mystery of Paul Pogba continues to elude Solskjaer and he clearly doesn’t know what to do with Nemanja Matic either - and he is one of the most talented midfielders of the recent Premier League era.

Looking at the betting markets following the match, you’ll see that things are definitely going to keep getting spicier at Old Trafford. Mauricio Pochettino is now at even money to be named as the next Manchester United manager and that will come as a surprise to nobody.

Brendan Rodgers is in the mix here but a former Liverpool manager is unlikely to wind up at United and you’ll find him trading anywhere between 7/1 to 14/1. You’ll also find Massimiliano Allegri available around a 5/1 price tag and that’s not a bad outside option but the momentum appears to be with only one potential manager at this stage.

Laurent Blanc has been another one that has been mentioned and the former United player was never considered a club legend in the vein of Solskjaer but he has definitely acquitted himself as a more accomplished manager thanks to his excellent stint managing in France.

You will find Laurent Blanc available around a 10/1 price tag and he’s probably your best bet if United don’t wind up bringing in Pochettino in the short-term prior to the January transfer window.

Interestingly enough, Solksjaer’s odds to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked has dropped considerably, Mauro Silva is odds-on to be sacked next at ⅙ while Solskjaer is trading around 10/1 and that will go down even lower once Silva is shown the door.
