Next Newcastle Manager Betting Tips

With the news hitting the wires that Alan Pardew is likely to head to Crystal Palace following the sacking of Neil Warnock, the obvious rush for punters is to start getting down some of their hard earned on the next manager to step into the hot seat at St James’ Park. The news will come as a surprise to some since Newcastle have been playing some pretty good stuff this year and are punching it out for a European place.

Much of the credit for Newcastle’s resurgence this season will likely go to Pardew but you can see the logic that he is using since his stock is more or less at an all-time high and he’s well aware that many supporters were calling for his ouster last season so his allegiance to the club itself probably isn’t what many might think it is.

Since moving to Crystal Palace puts Pardew is a much less comfortable position, it’s obvious that he will be facing a much bigger task in keeping this team in the Premier League. However, his past history with Crystal Palace makes him a much more dogged defender of the side and you can expect him to give 110% for his new club and his likely increased pay packet.

Right now, punters will be looking towards Tony Pulis as the betting favourite but the overall market is a bit compact at the top right now with Pulis and Steve Bruce looking like the most likely candidates. Unlike many other instances with a new manager coming in, the prices here are actually good and offer up some solid value.

More often than not, you’ll find that the top selection in manager markets is very short-priced but not this time with Pulis trading at around 7/2 with most major bookmakers and Steve Bruce hovering around 5/1 or 6/1 right now. Ally McCoist is the third selection with a listing anywhere between 8/1 and 11/1.

With the situation rapidly evolving at Crystal Palace one of the most interesting market moves involves Frank De Boer who is a general 20/1 with other books but has been slashed to a minuscule 6/1 with Paddy Power. That could be a very interesting clue for punters looking to decipher this puzzle. Glenn Hoddle can be backed anywhere from 16/1 to 33/1 while Peter Beardsley is trading between 8/1 and 16/1.

Regardless of how it all turns out, this could be a fascinating couple of days - a fact exacerbated by the launch of the new transfer window in January.
