NEXT PORTSMOUTH MANAGER BETTING TIPS

Avram Grant, Sven Goran Eriksson and Alan Curbishley are all considered favourites to secure the position of next Portsmouth Manager after the sacking of Tony Adams. While a number of big names dot the list of potential candidates, only a few of them can be considered really serious contenders. The situation at Chelsea is interesting and certainly complicates things in terms of Avram Grant. Portsmouth are really down there in relegation territory and whoever actually takes the position is in for a hell of a fight. However, with a number of really capable players at Pompey underperforming, we all know that man-management is going to be priority number one going in. This is Alan Curbishley's specialty. He kept Charlton in the Premier League for a number of years past their sell-by date and I think he would be up to the job. Sven is a bit of a wildcard and you don't really know how committed he would actually be to the cause. I think he should have been given more time at City, but them's the breaks and hopefully he enjoyed his Mexican sojourn. Avram Grants odds are listed at 3.8, while Eriksson and Curbishley are at 5.1 and 5.8 respectively. Other outside candidates include Slaven Bilic at 13, Graeme Souness at 22 and Terry Venables at 40.
