Next Premier League Manager to be Sacked PT 1

Now that we have had a few weeks of action (three of them, to be specific) in the English Premier League the attention is starting to turn to the next manager who is likely to depart their job as the early season pressure builds up and ultimately becomes too much to handle as the board and chairmen begin looking to better position themselves for a fresh start with a new manager.

Things have already gone from bad to worse with a few managers but one of the things worth noting right now isn’t so much the ones that are most favoured for the sack in the next couple of weeks but the one manager everybody expected to be headlining this list shortly into the season but actually isn’t.

That man is Claudio Ranieri.

You just don’t hear the words “Tinkerman” like you used to but the Italian remains a fixture in the headlines now but for completely different reasons. Why Leicester’s unbeaten run has ended, they remain likely to keep things going for the rest of the season and it’s worth looking out for them as they put together some solid performances and appear to be going from strength to strength.

As one of the early season fancies for the sack, Ranieri now trades as high as 33/1 with some bookmakers after absolutely surprising all observers and taking over a club that were dealing with a very difficult media situation combined with back-room problems so this must be especially welcome news to the management of the club who look to be establishing themselves in mid-table.

The betting favourite for the sack right now appears to be Dick Advocaat and that’s probably not coming as a big surprise since this situation appears to have him just as baffled as anybody about what to do. The issue here is that we know Dick Advocaat can manage teams to success (it’s still a bit odd that he’s at Sunderland at all, truth be told) and he knows that he can get better offers elsewhere.
