NFC Conference Championship BettingChoice Review
Whereas the AFC looks an extremely competitive conference, the NFC isn't particularly strong with question marks over all of their representatives. Favourites to win the NFC as they have been virtually since the start are <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Philadelphia. However, since locking up the number one seed a few weeks ago, the Eagles have lost twice.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Admittedly they have rested their starters and lost their main offensive threat in Terrell Owens. That said to suddenly expect to start playing to their optimum in the play-offs isn't a given. The Eagles at a best price 8/11 are by no means are sure thing to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Next in line are Atlanta who can be backed at 7/2. The Falcons also locked in their number two seed a while ago. There are though concerns over the health of Michael Vick who experienced numbness in his hand in the final regular season game. A dangerous team to look out for, priced attractively at 9/1 to win the NFC conference is Green Bay who after starting the year 1-4 wound up comfortable 10-6 winners of their division. The Packers host the faltering Minnesota at Lambeau Field next week, a team they have already beaten twice this season. Don't though completely discount the Vikings though, who if they awake from their offensive slumber have the potential to put points on any team. Despite losing twice to Green Bay this year, on both occasions it took a field goal in the dying seconds for the Packers to win. Whoever wins would then play in Atlanta. On the other side of the draw, St.Louis sneaked into the play-offs after they won in overtime against New York Jets to clinch their wildcard. The Rams now play division rivals Seattle on the road. St.Louis have fond memories of their last trip to Seattle when Marc Bulger engineered an unlikely fourth quarter comeback. The winners of the NFC West battle would then play Philadelphia Eagles, who as mentioned above may be vulnerable. As bad as Seattle have been in the second half of the season, there is still hope for the vast number of pre-season Seahawks backers. Seattle, Minnesota, St.Louis are all quoted at 12/1 or higher, but given the weak nature of the NFC, don't be overly surprised if any of these teams finds themselves playing in Jacksonville next February.
