NFL Report on the Baltimore Ravens
Here's a word of advice for all you NFL bettors; Bet them early and bet them often, for this will be an exciting year in Baltimore, Maryland. You have to love the look of the 2005 version of the Ravens and Kyle Boller is ready for a breakout season. Now that head coach Brian Billick has removed offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh from the mix, look for new OC Jim Fassell and quarterbacks coach Rick Neuheisal to take Boller's game to the next level. In fact if you were to look at the quarterbacks who have excelled under the tutelage of Billick, Fassel and Neuheisal, the list is staggering. I think more important then this area though, is individuals like Neuheisal and imprisoned running back Jamal Lewis, that will throw themselves into their roles, after enduring a few years of major turmoil.Neuheisal was the head coach at two major universities in Colorado and Washington, but was dismissed in relationship to illegal gambling activities and a subsequent cover-up. He has since been awarded compensation for his dismissal and there is no denying his talent.Lewis is scheduled to be released from an Atlanta prison next week after serving 4 months for brokering a drug deal in 2000 and the time away has been a blessing according to reports. I think we all should have are freedom taken away for a few months, as it would probably help us get life's priorities in proper perspective. If your not buying into my sentimental verbiage, then I point to the fact that this guy is just one year removed from being voted the top player in the NFL in 2003.He also is surrounded with help as the Ravens welcome back a healthy Todd Heath and former Titan Derrick Mason and rookie Mark Clayton of Oklahoma prominence. The defense will be stellar with the pickup of shutdown corner Samari Rolle to go along with all pro Chris McAllister and rookie Dan Cody from the Sooners could be a rookie of the year candidate. Linebacker and leader Ray Lewis had an off year last season, but look for him and Suggs to wreak havoc on teams. They open the season Sunday night at home to the AFC finalist Indianapolis Colts and the line should be a pick-em to -1-2!Go Ravens!
