NFL: SUPER BOWL BETTING ODDS BEFORE WEEK 14

It would be a major surprise if Philadelphia (11/4) don't make it to the Super Bowl next February. The Eagles thrashed Green Bay on Sunday and it is now only a question of when they secure the NFC number one seed in the play-offs. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Perhaps the only team in the conference capable of defeating the Eagles would be an in-form Minnesota. However, even the Vikings lost in Chicago and don't have the easiest schedule to finish with Seattle (h), Detroit (a), Green Bay (h), Washington (a). Although with little competition in the NFC, most of the bookies make Philadelphia the joint favourites along with New England (3/1).While the Patriots are virtually assured of postseason football, the path to Jacksonville is sure to be much trickier. Any number of AFC teams on their day could give New England major problems. A couple of those teams include Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, and even their AFC East divisional rivals New York Jets. An argument could even be made for a few others. There's a surprise team every year. In 1999, it was the Rams who came out of nowhere to win the Super Bowl. In 2000, the Ravens came out of nowhere and won the Super Bowl. In 2001, the Patriots came out of nowhere to win the Super Bowl. Who is to say San Diego (20/1) can't do the same? The Chargers are now in a strong position to win the AFC West after a huge win over Denver Broncos on Sunday night. There are also two other 6-6 AFC franchises worth keeping a close eye on. Cincinnati Bengals cannot be ruled out of the play-offs just yet after a narrow win in Baltimore. If (and it is a big IF) they beat New England in week 14, they then play Buffalo and New York Giants at home, followed by a regular season finale in Philadelphia (who probably won't be playing a number of their starters). A 10-6 finish is possible. Maybe Buffalo Bills are a more realistic shout to finish with four victories. They play Cleveland, Cincinnati, San Francisco and Pittsburgh. The hardest game looks to be against the Bengals and not the Steelers who may rest key players in week 17. Buffalo are 150/1 and Cincinnati are a massive 500/1.
