The groups were just announced for the UEFA countries participating in World Cup 2018 qualifying and we have some really fascinating clashes set to unfold over the next couple of years in the build-up to the world’s biggest footballing clash that’s going to take place in Russia in a few years time.

While FIFA seemingly couldn’t care less about the level of racial abuse happening in Russia both on and off the pitch, the show ultimately looks like it’s set to go on. While there are many who believe that the Qatar World Cup will ultimately be moved to the United States, the Russian one appears to be going nowhere. 

As you know, the top side from each group qualifies automatically with the second place finishers entering a dramatic play-off. 

Group A sees the top contenders emerging as France and the Netherlands. The outright favourite is currently the French side with an even money price tag at the moment while the Netherlands sits at a 6/4 margin to top the group and progress through to the next stage automatically. 

Sweden looks to be the only real potential spoiler in the group at an 8/1 price and they always seemingly show up to the World Cup just so they can face England in the group stages there so it will be really interesting to see if the Swedes, who are always an organized unit, can take out either the French or the Dutch. 

Belarus, Bulgaria and Luxembourg round out the group.
