NORWAY LISTED AT NEARLY EVENS TO WIN 2009 EUROVISION SONG CONTEST
The odds continue to go lower and lower for Norway's Alexander Rybak in his effort to be crowned king of European pop music for the 2009 year. Not even a group of angry Chelsea fans should be able to stop Norway's progress, as whispers have been coming out of Stamford Bridge that Chelsea fans around Europe could attempt to derail Norway's excellent chance at winning Eurovision with an organized attempt to vote against Rybak. This hasn't affected the bookmakers much as William Hill has Norway now listed at an outright price of 13/8 with Greece at 11/2 and Turkey at 8/1. Bosnia Herzegovina are available at 10/1 while the UK sits at a respectable 14/1. Azerbaijan is listed at 16/1 with Fracne at 20/1 and Ukraine at 25/1. Iceland, Malta (who have dropped a lot recently), Germany, Sweden and Estobia are all deadlocked at 33/1. William Hill has each-way betting available on Eurovision and you can back your favourite to finish within the top 4 places at 1/4 odds. You can also back which heat the Winner will come from as well. The 2nd Semi Final is listed at 4/7 and the first semi-final is available at 7/4. Backing an automatic finalist will pay out at 7/1 if they emerge victorious. UK Punters can also back their countries finishing position. They're expected to do well, but virtually every selection is possible. 1-6 pays out at 9/4, 7-12 pays out at 5/2, 13-18 pays 5/2 and 19-24 pays 11/4. UK to finish rock bottom pays out at 16/1. For a country listed at nearly the same price to win the thing, you realize that we still have a long way to go before we know how Eurovision 2009 will finish.
