Norwich Sack Glenn Roeder - Aidy Boothroyd Favourite To Take Over
Following just one win in last six League Championship matches, Norwich City decided to sack manager Glen Roeder today. The FA Cup 0-1 loss to Charlton, a team which had not won in last 18 games was the final factor which came into play for the decision.UK Bookmakers have since then come out with betting odds on who would be the next manager with the Canaries and name of Aidy Boothroyd is being considered the favourite.Roeder had joined Norwich in October 2007, when they were at the bottom of the standings and was instrumental in lifting them out of the relegation zone last season and keeping them safe in the second tier league. The Canaries have also fired Roeder's coaching team of Paul Stephenson and Adam Sadler."We'd like to place on record our sincere gratitude and admiration for what Glenn and his staff achieved last season when they saved the club from relegation against the odds," chairman Roger Munby said. "However this season the position has become untenable and it is with regret that the Board has decided to take this step."With the Canaries due for their next match as early as coming Saturday against Barnsley, speculation has started over who would be the next in charge at Norwich City. Both Skybet and Victor Chandler have former Norwich Youth coach Aidy Boothroyd on top of their list. Skybet have been getting lot of backing for Boothroyd who was recently sacked by Watford. He started as 5/2 favourite but is now as low as 8/11 with Skybet.Former Blackburn manager, Paul Ince is the second favourite at Skybet with 5/1.Third in the race is former Norwich City forward Mark Robbins who has had good success at Rotherdam United. He is available at 9/1 with Skybet. There are a host of other names being talked about but with the way money is coming in for Boothroyd and him being backed all the way from 5/2 to 8/11 presently, it seems we can be in for a decision soon about him.Next Norwich Manager - Next Permanent Manager Betting Odds With SkyBet.Boothroyd A 8/11 Robins M 9/1 Dowie I 10/1 Jewell P 10/1 Cotterill S 10/1 Pardew A 10/1 Mackay M 11/1 Holloway I 11/1 Sanchez L 12/1McAllister G 16/1OLeary D 20/1 Dublin D 20/1 Hoddle G 20/1 Saunders D 25/1 Keane R 33/1Robson B 33/1Poyet G 33/1Calderwood J 33/1Royle J 33/1Souness G 33/1Curbishley A 50/1
