Obama vs Palin 2012 Presidential Election Betting Tips
Last evening Americans everywhere taking to the streets shouting "Yes We Can" in a moment of national pride that will never be forgotten. Now, the champagne-induced hangovers are in full swing and a number of Americans must now be wondering "Okay, what's next?" Thankfully, Betfair is two steps ahead of the game with odds listed on who is going to be elected president in 2012. While it may seem like a long way off now, the campaign is likely to start shortly after the 2010 mid-terms. Some interesting names adorn the list, some familiar and some that Americans are likely to get to know a little bit better over the next few years. Obama Remains Favourite At this point in time, Obama is a massive favourite to be elected to a second term with His odds are listed at 1.54 in order to be re-elected in 2012. President-elect Obama will need to get started early and will need to deliver the "change we need" before his odds lengthen. It appears as though bookmakers believe he has the right stuff. Palin Failin'? Sarah Palin, probably the highest profile political mistake in half a decade, has been viewed by many as a potential party leader for the vanquished Republicans. Betfair seems to think otherwise however with her odds listed at a lengthy 20-1. Maybe she could drop a few quid on herself and try to win another shopping spree. Other Contenders Some of the other names being bandied about are Washington veterans while others seem distinctly Obama-like. Lindsey Graham is viewed as the most probable Republican to take on Obama in 2012 with his Presidential victory odds being listed ahead of Palin at 16-1. Condoleezza Rice is a hairsbreath behind Graham with 18-1 being her current rate. Other candidates from this election look like longshots as well with Hillary Clinton listed at 26-1, Mike Huckabee at 38-1 and Mittens listed at 23-1. Newt Gingrich is listed at 50-1. It is impossible to bet on Obama not being able to deliver, but if anybody is looking for a Republican who might have a shot at unseating Obama, you would be best to put your money on Lousiana Governor Bobby Jindahl, an Indian-American who is listed at 27-1.
