Online Poker Tourney Results 4th Feb 2007
This weekend the numbers were down, overlays were big and one site had some huge technical difficulties. Full Tilt Poker, the home of the $300,000 Weekly Guarantee, prides itself on its stellar software. Usually, things run super-smooth at FTP. Unfortunately, even these guys aren't immune to problems. When the action got down to about 30 players, the tournament came to a halt. There was no final table. The remaining players split the prize money based on their relative stack sizes at the time the site crashed. UltimateBet didn't have any computer glitches, although they may have wished they did. The site continues to put up some dismal attendance numbers. Only 729 people entered the $200,000 Guarantee this Sunday. The low attendance was largely attributed to the Super Bowl. However, what translates to bad news for UB meant good news for those who paid to play. The site paid out $54,200 from its own coffers to meet the guarantee. Annie Duke lent some star power to the event. The lady, who many say will be the first WSOP female Main Event champ, almost made the final table. She finished in 12th place and earned $1,700 for her time. a_thekevlar_2, a former finalist, took tenth but never played at the final table since he was knocked out in a two-banger right after Duke. MHBSchwab2 was the chip leader going in with 316k. However, he couldn't hold on to his big stack and was sent to the rail in fifth place when his pocket cowboys hit a snag against no1TK's Ac,10h. no1TK then became the chip leader going into three-handed play. He had over 1 mil chips against RandALLin's 417k and stallion pt3's 374k. The first hand these three played favored RandALLin and his big slick in the pocket. All players went deep into the hand - and RandALLin reaped the benefits, pushing him to the top of the heap. A few hands later, RandALLin finished off no1TK with a flush on the river. no1TK had hit a queen-high straight on the flop and went all-in. He earned over $18k for his third-place finish. When heads-up play started, RandALLin had a commanding lead which he never relinquished. It didn't take him long to dispatch of his opponent. Here are the final results: 1) RandALLin - $46,0002) stallion pt3 - $28,0003) no1TK - $18,5004) PoppyG46 - $13,0005) MHBSchwab2 - $11,0006) sonofred - $9,0007) pdawg86 - $7,0008) gocavs1 - $5,0009) Kona21 - $3,50010) a_thekevlar_2 - $2,000 PartyPoker is again a statistical anomaly. While other sites are struggling, the Party is raging at their $200,000 Weekly Guarantee. 1,318 players anted up to the virtual felt, pushing the prize pool to $263,600 - a high for the year 2007 so far. Scandinavia was well-represented at the final table with three players each from Sweden and Denmark. Going into the action, miran111 had a narrow lead with his 1.15 million chips. Play was tight for a while. The first knockout didn't occur 'til the blinds rose to 20k/40k. Shishkovka tried to steal the pot with the Doyle Brunson (10,2). Unfortunately, Shish ran into Cubus' dominating pocket tens. Hulda took ninth place when her Big Slick met a set of sevens on the flop against spetsern. Tof59 then succumbed with a Jd,9h in the pocket. Cubus' suited A,3 earned the elimination. miran then hit some rough times and was ousted by CharBukowski's sixes on the river. Char then took out jensen1811 with pocket queens and later crippled, then crushed, theoracle222. However, when heads-up play began, Char was looking at a 3:1 deficit in favor of his opponent, spetstern. Char brought the match back to even on a three-outer with an Ad,3d. After that, the two swapped the chip lead multiple times. They finally agreed to a chop which separated the winnings by bragging rights and a mere eight dollars. Here are the final results: 1) CharBukowski - $43,498 2) spetsern - $43,490 3) theoracle222 - $19,1114) Cubus - $15,1575) High11th - $12,521 6) jensen1811 - $9,8857) miran111 - $7,512.608) Tof59 - $5,008.409) Hulda3 - $3,822.2010) Shishkovka - $2,636 Bodog put in $25,300 on Sunday to meet its $100,000 Guarantee. 747 online gamers showed up to play and 63 entrants made bank. HaNkYDahANky held a slight lead going into the final table with 377k in chips. PokerJones was the first warrior to fall. He was called by both pinnie and Roshambro. Roshambro earned the KO with top-pair, top-kicker on his big slick in the pocket. pinnie then eliminated HaNkYDahANky while holding A,K in the hole himself. watash20 bid his tablemates adieu in sixth place. He lost a race to pinnie's pocket sixes. pinnie then paired his queen on the flop against PlayNBarredUp and added another notch to his elimination belt. Unfortunately, pinnie's run for the top was ended by Roshambro, the event's eventual winner. pinnie finished in fourth place, earning $6,900 for his efforts. Roshambro grabbed hold of the chip lead and didn't let go. He had 1.4 mil in chips when heads-up play began. His opponent, kingkai had 514k, but couldn't do much with it. Only a few hands later, kingkai's As,3h proved to be no match for Roshambro's pocket nines. The board didn't really improve either player (Kd,Kh,10c,5d,6s). Here are the final table results: 1) Roshambro - $25,0002) kingkai - $14,3003) HaNkYDahANky - $9,2004) pinnie - $6,9005) LokTakWah - $5,5006) PlayNBarredUp - $4,5007) watash20 - $3,5008) Brady Hawks - $2,5009) PokerJones - $1,600 Next Sunday Full Tilt Poker is holding a $750,000 Guarantee with Erick "EDOG" Lindgren.
