OXFORD VS CAMBRIDGE VARSITY BOAT RACE BETTING TIPS
The 155th Boat Race is set to kick off between two absolute powerhouses in the world of rowing- Oxford and Cambridge. This annual event has put many names onto the list of rowing immortality and the race seemingly captures the imaginations of the entire country. According to the bookies, Oxford are the distinct favourites to win with odds listed at 2/7 outright. Cambridge comes in at 5/2 with a Dead Heat listed at a hefty 100/1. As usual, the real odds are in the winning distance markets and you'll see Oxford are favoured for a blow-out victory. Oxford by 3.5 lengths or more pays out at less than evens and is currently at 5/6 with Ladbrokes. Oxford by 3.25 lengths or less pays 11/5 while Cambridge by less than 2.25 pays 9/2 and more than 2.5 will pay out at an enticing 8/1. If you think you've got the correct time figured out in advance, you can back 17m 15s or less at 13/8, anywhere between 17m 16s-18m 15s pays out at 7/4 while 18m 16s or more will earn you 7/4 as well. If you think the winning time will be over 26m 5s you're looking at 33/1, but let's face it that's not going to happen with rowers of this caliber. If you're confident that one group won't finish the race, you are looking at some very enticing odds. Either crew to sink pays 20/1 while both crews to sink pays 100/1. Oxford or Cambridge individually pay 40/1 if they sink while a disqualification pays out at 66/1 each-way. I'm confident that we'll see Oxford (2/7) win this one by under 3 ¼ lengths (11/5).
