PADDY POWER MANCHESTER UNITED VS PORTO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
Old Trafford is the venue for one of the most anticipated dates in Manchester United's season. Eager to exercise the ghosts from the last time they faced Porto in knockout competition, United are still on a high from last Sunday's epic drama courtesy of a 17 year-old young gun named Federico Macheda. United go into this as heavy favourites with Porto being the team that everybody wanted to be drawn against. I'm very confident that United will come in with all guns blazing and I can see that the Rooney/Ferguson conflict was completely overblown. Rooney will be in form for the Champions League first leg tie and when he's got a point to prove the opposition is in for a whole lot of headaches. So far, Rooney is listed at evens to score anytime alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. First or last goalscorer odds sit at 7/2. Porto are a solid team and can't be underestimated, but considering the energy that will be flowing through the United team right now, we could very well be in for a blow out. There is a distinct chance that United could score 3 or 4 here and keep a clean sheet, effectively ending the tie. For my money, a really solid bet here is the half-time/full-time market where United/United is listed at evens. 3-0 to United pays out at 7/1 while 4/0 doubles that up to 14/1. If you think United will take this one but not by a huge margin, try Man United 2-0 at 9/2. I can personally see an early goal happening here and United could very well slot home another one before half-time. If United are up 2-0 at half-time you can back that and get paid out at 11/2. Manchester United to be winning within the first 10 minutes pays out at 9/2.
