PADDY POWER TIPS FOR RUBY WALSH AT THE 2009 GRAND NATIONAL

With Tony McCoy waiting to declare his mount for the running of the 2009 Grand National at Aintree, Ruby Walsh has been solidified as the bookies prediction for top jockey this time around. He's set to pilot the favourite My Will in the Grand National and he's also going to be on board a number of top runners throughout the three days of competition. The biggest name he'll be piloting is in the totesport Bowl where he'll be on top of Star De Mohaison and that's an impressive tandem. Star De Mohaison is currently listed at 9/1 and represents more than a solid each-way bet. There's good value there, but you're effectively betting against Denman in this one. Denman is a hell of a horse, but Tony McCoy and Ruby will be looking to pip him and get things off to a roaring start. He's also going to be piloting Hebridean in the Matalan Novices Hurdle and that's a solid bet as well. We've just seen a price drop there and he is currently available at 10/3 with most sportsbooks. Hebridean brings some solid form into this one finishing 421 in his last three. Starluck and Walkon are both solid contenders and bring plenty of form to the race. I'm favouring Alan King's Walkon here, but I think Ruby will factor into the equation significantly. The Silver Cross Handicap will see Ruby jumping on top of Font and taking on the widely-tipped The Polomoche as well as Big Earned Fran. Prince Taime is worth keeping an eye on there, but at 10/1 you've got solid value on Ruby Walsh. The first race on the opening day features Ruby saddling up Big Bucks. I consider this one to be an absolute lock. 5/6 may not seem like stellar odds, but Big Bucks has this one wrapped up. Ruby will start the festival with a bang. He'll be on top of Poquelin in the Red Rum and you can back him at 7/1. He's a slim favourite in this one with Oh Crick, Leslingtaylor and Vinmix De Bessy all making things interesting. And of course Ruby will be headlining the centrepiece of the competition- the 2009 Aintree Grand National. He's on top of the favoured My Will and is sitting at around 7/1 at the moment.
