PAUL NICHOLLS FAVOURED FOR 2011 NATIONAL HUNT CHAMPION TRAINER
The 2010/11 National Hunt season is just around the corner and you’ll likely be filling out your tentofollow sooner than you think. With the Arc De Triomphe behind us and jumps cards in full effect- the hurdles and the fences are about to see a lot more action in the coming weeks.
As usual, the top National Hunt Champion Trainer betting is looking like a two-horse race- provided you don’t think we’re in for any major surprises this year.
Britain’s undisputed jumps-training champion, Paul Nicholls, is listed at an odds-on price by every single major bookmaker and betting exchange to be named the winning-est jumps trainer of the 2010/11 season.
You can lock in a 4/9 price on Paul Nicholls with William Hill while Paddy Power and Bet365 price him at 4/7.
Paul Nicholls’ closest competition looks to be coming from Nicky Henderson, and he’s the only other contender who is trading at a somewhat plausible price. You can get a 2/1 listing on Henderson with William Hill while Paddy Power is has him listed at 3/2 and Bet365 at a 6/4 price.
The others are all trading at above 20/1 with Nigel Twiston-Davies considered to be the top outside bet with a 20/1 price across the board. Alan King is listed at 25/1 while he’s at 33/1 with Paddy and Bet365.
Jonjo O’Neill is trading at 33/1 with all the bookmakers while David Pipe can be backed at a 40/1 price.
While Nicholls’ is obviously well-fancied to pull this off, you do wonder how many punters are going to have a bash on the National Hunt circuit being turned upside down this year?
