PHIL TAYLOR VS. BRENDAN DOLAN- GRAND PRIX DARTS BETTING ODDS
Englishman Phil Taylor tackles Dutch compatriot Vinent van der Voort this evening, in the battle to try and claim the Grand Prix Darts title in Dublin.
The tournament puts 32 of the world's greatest darts players within the Citywest Hotel Convention Centre in Dublin, for the unique double-start event.
While this matchup might be viewed as entertaining to the true-blooded darts fan, many are watching to see if who might be able halt Phil 'The Power' Taylor, and in doing so deny him a tenth victory in the event.
With the World Grand Prix being a unique event, in that all legs have to both begin and end with a double, ensure that this one will come down to the wire
Taylor is odds on favourite to dominate proceedings this evening, however if we are to go on historical data, if he were to lose it would be in the first round.
His three defeats at this competition have all come in the first round - to Kevin Painter in 2001, Andy Callaby in 2004 and Adrian Gray in 2007, with Taylor admitting that there are a few nerves going into tonight's first round matchup.
Regardless of this Taylor is a dead on favourite tonight with William Hill offering The Power at a ridiculous 1.05, to Dolan at 9.0
For the Correct scoring things are only slightly better with Taylor once again storming ahead with a perfect 2-0 win the likely score at 1.12, with a 2-1 at 6.0
Brendan Dolan, far from a slouch in front of the board, is at 21.0 for a 2-1 win, with a perfect 2-0 score coming in at a massive 41.0 even
The best bet of the lot from an earning perspective is for Taylor to claim the most 180's of the match at 1.33
Tonight should be a one-way train with Taylor dominating.
Fermanagh-based Dolan came up against Taylor a year ago, losing 2-0 in sets, however believes he can cause a major upset tonight.
Donal, ranked 37th in the world opened up to the media this week when stating; "The first round is the only time he's been beaten in the competition and that's happened three times, so hopefully last year's experience of playing against him will help me do the job this time."
