PORTO VS CHELSEA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TIPS

Chelsea visit Portugal this evening and it looks like a very solid fixture with a lot of excellent betting opportunities. First and foremost, Chelsea are very well-priced for a victory, carrying a Betfair price of around 2.8 with Porto trading just south of 3.0. The draw is listed at 3.25 currently, and that’s great odds all around. The volume hasn’t shown up yet, with a mere $750,000 matched two hours before kick-off.
This match could be a bit of a dead rubber as both have already qualified for the next stage of the competition. Chelsea do plan on resting stars like Didier Drogba and Michael Essien, who played a belter at the weekend against Wolves.
One of my favourite parts about teams playing Porto is that I get to see a guy run around the pitch with the name “Hulk” on his jersey. Great stuff. He’s listed at 3.45 to score at anytime while Falcao (a really quality player) is listed at 3.6. You’ll also find Cristian Rodriguez listed at 7.0 and that’s good value if he starts the match.
Nicolas Anelka is 3.35 to score any time while Salomon Kalou trades at 4.6. He’s got a much better eye for goal this season and I think he’s developing rapidly under Carlo Ancelotti. Florent Malouda is another one who has picked up the pace and he trades at around 7.0. Keep your eye on Joe Cole at 5.9, as well.
You’re looking at nearly 3.0 if Chelsea can keep a clean sheet in this fixture. 1.5 is the price to back Porto to score at anytime.
Punters on Betfair don’t seem to fancy a high-scoring game as “any unquoted” or a team to score 4 or more is listed at 20.0. 1-0 to Porto pays 8.4 while 1-1 pays 7.0. 1-0 to Chelsea pays out around 8.0 while 2-1 to the English club is an enticing 14.0.
My tip for this match is a scorecast with Nicolas Anelka/Chelsea 2-1 at 60.0.
