PORTSMOUTH VS CHELSEA PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
With Portsmouth basically relegated and more or less a blemish on the Premiership this year, you get the feeling that the pressure is now off and the players may actually start grinding out a few results- albeit too little too late. The Avram Grant factor is certainly in play here and I think he’s going to try to put together a season’s best performance to get one over on his former employers. I don’t think any of what happened is Grant’s fault, how do you motivate a team full of top professionals when they’re not even sure when their next paycheque is coming from?
Chelsea are big favourites for this one with a 1.28 price tag, which is a massive underlay. Chelsea have not been playing their best lately and a 1-1 draw against Blackburn hardly inspires confidence as the Blues go up against a Pompey side with nothing to lose and a manager looking for revenge. The draw (more likely than it seems) pays out at 5.5 with Portsmouth trading at a hefty 10.0 for the victory.
The favoured correct score outcome is 2-0 to Chelsea at 6.0 with a 3-0 or 1-0 result at 7.0. A 1-1 draw pays out at 10.0 while a 2-2 draw rewards at 21.0. Pompey to win 2-1 pays out at 29.0 and that would more or less take Chelsea out of the title race, at least for now.
Didier Drogba is priced at a very short 1.4 to score anytime while Nicolas Anelka trades at 1.8. Salomon Kalou is listed at 2.2 while Frank Lampard trades at the same price. Daniel Sturridge is at 2.37 while Fabio Borini sits at 2.75 with Florent Malouda.
Frederic Piqionne is a good bet to score for Pompey if they do score and you’ll find him at 5.0. John Utaka trades at 7.0 while Hassan Yebda sits at 8.0.
If you’re looking to back Portsmouth, you can even take them on the handicap (+1.0) at a solid 3.2 margin. Chelsea (-1.0) trade at 1.72 which is a solid price for Blues fans. Chelsea are 1.8 to win to nil while Portsmouth are 26.0 to come from behind and win and 9.0 to come from behind and draw.
