PREMIER LEAGUE 2010 BETTING MARKETS HAVE MANCHESTER UNITED ODDS-ON FOR THE TITLE
We are really getting down to the business-end of the 2009/10 Premiership season and popular UK bookmaker Ladbrokes has now listed Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United side as the odds-on favourites to win an unprecedented 4th straight title. The news likely won’t come as a surprise to Manchester United fans, who have enjoyed some really solid performances lately. You’ll find the Red Devils odds to win the Premieship trading at 1.9.
Arsenal’s odds to win the 2009/10 Premier League are listed at 3.0 with Ladbrokes, making them the clear second-place favourites. Arsene Wenger’s men have really made cash from chaos this year and I don’t want to say that they’re punching above their weight, but they are certainly defying the expectations that many had for them pre-season. Credit to the Gunners that they are still in this and it will only take one or two bad results from United to effectively hand the title to the Emirates crew.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea side are 3.75 to win the Premiership and anybody who backed Chelsea to win the league between August and about three weeks ago is probably kicking themselves. That’s a tidy price for the team that was expected to take this thing, but injuries have caught up with them, the side look tired and Ancelotti seems to run out of ideas rather quickly during certain matches. In all honesty, Didier Drogba is the only player who is performing to expectations.
Manchester City are paying a hefty 101.0 should they somehow sneak the Premiership title. Not happening. Tottenham are paying out 151.0 should they be able to part the red seas or something akin to that. Liverpool are 351.0 to finally prove that “this is our year!”
If you’re looking for a punt on that 4th place position, you’ll find Manchester City as the favourites to crack the Sky 4 with a 2.37 price. Tottenham is trading at 2.62 and they’re not far behind- it looks like a duel between those two sides. Liverpool are a lengthy 5.5 (plenty of value there for Liverpool fans) while Martin O’Neill’s Aston Villa side trade at 6.5 to finish fourth.
