PREMIER LEAGUE 2010/11 BETTING ODDS- OUTRIGHT WINNER
Seven games into the season and the English Premiership is already causing more controversy than has been witnessed in the past decade.
With former European powerhouse Liverpool sitting in the relegation zone, alongside historical favourite West Ham, a new age of football has been brought to the fore.
As expected, Chelsea are odds on to win the Premiership outright with Betfair setting them at 1.57. Few can argue that Chelsea have been anything less than clinical this season.
Bar a slip up to fellow Premiership contenders Manchester City, the Blues squad are looking far and away the pick of the lot.
Alex Ferguson's Manchester United is next in line at an enticing 4.9.
Their odds would have been severely affected by recent draw results, however we all know what Ferguson's men are capable of, and one would assume that they will quickly sort themselves out.
Arsenal's loss at Stamford Bridge this past weekend would have also seen their odds lengthened on the back of a performance that clearly highlighted the gap in class present.
Boasting an injury list including the likes of Walcott, Van Persie and Fabregas has hurt the North- London Club, and as such their odds to take the title are now set at an unlikely 12.0
The next 'real' contender in this year’s race is Arab-backed Manchester City.
Despite registering one of the largest annual financial losses in EPL history, the lesser known Manchester contingent are still in the hunt, having registered an impressive win against current champions Chelsea
Currently placed second on the log, Man City is placed at 10.0 to win it all.
Boasting one of the most impressive teams on paper, City has shown inconsistency on field, which is the most likely reason for these somewhat long odds.
This could be the surprise pick of the lot, as if this team finds some consistency; they certainly harbour the ability to go all the way
White Hart Lane would be in laa-laa land if the title were to land the way of Spurs.
Redknapp's men are currently set at 130.0, however, as with Man City, Spurs have lacked consistency, and while harbouring the ability to finish in the top four, don’t have the big match temperament to win the title
They are long shots at 190.0
Liverpool...where do we begin?
This is a club in serious trouble. Currently lingering in the relegation zone, and already knocked out of the Carling Cup by third tier Northampton Town, these men have a lot bigger worries than winning the league- notably staying in the league.
The Reds are placed at 190.0- the longest odds in half a century
Regardless of this synopsis only being in the first quarter half of the season, the script is already quite clear as to how this season will go.
This will be a four horse race, with the only real shift over the past 'top four' of yesteryear being Man City.
Betting Tip: Chelsea to win the Premiership at 1.64
