PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS WEEK 12 BETTING TIPS
The finishing line is drawing ever closer and the reality of despair or elation becoming an ever more likely prospect for the players still in the hunt for a semi-final berth. Who will seize the initiative and book their place in finals day? And who will bottle under the pressure?
In response to the latter question, it is looking increasingly like the answer might be Ronnie Baxter. After a superb start to the tournament he now looks to be falling by the wayside as the likes of Simon Whitlock and tonight’s opponent James Wade hit top form. He hasn’t won in three weeks and I see no reason as to why he might put that right tonight. Wade at odds of 1.5 (1/2) on Betfair looks a nice little earner to get the night underway.
Phil Taylor finds himself in the rare slot of second match of the night this week, and is up against a familiar foe in Mervyn King. I have been waxing lyrical about Taylor’s trend of starting matches slowly throughout this Premier League, and I make no apology for doing so again here. We collected in the race to 3 legs market by backing Whitlock last week and can do the same here by siding with The King this week. Mervyn is 2.4 (11/8) to get 3 legs on the board before Taylor does, and again that looks like the outstanding bet of the match.
Neither of the two questions posed in the opening paragraph apply to Raymond van Barneveld. His dreadful run of form continued last week as he folded like a cheap tent in the second half of his match against Wade and is now firmly rooted to the bottom of the table with just five points. His opponent tonight is Terry Jenkins who continues to keep his slim hopes of semi-final qualification alive. He will probably need to win his remaining three matches to finish in the top four and is a good value bet to keep on track tonight.
Recommended Bets;
Back Wade to beat Jenkins @ 1.5 (1/2)
Back King in ‘race to 3 legs’ @ 2.4 (11/8)
Back Jenkins to beat Barney @ 2.7 (7/4)
