PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS WEEK 13 LATEST ODDS AND BETTING TIPS
Terry Jenkins and Raymond van Barneveld are now mathematically out of the Premier League equation but there are still five players battling for just three remaining semi-final slots.
Adrian Lewis must win tonight against Ronnie Baxter if he is to go into his final game against Phil Taylor harbouring any hopes of making it to the semi-finals. The odds are in his favour, he is 2.0 (Evens) with Betfair to win, and I believe he is looking well equipped to oblige. A 3-dart average of just under 100.0, a high checkout of 121 and four 180’s helped him secure a point against Simon Whitlock last week and another performance anywhere near that level will be enough to beat Baxter.
Van Barneveld showed that he still possesses all the talent that won him five World titles, if not the heart, by notching another nine-darter last week. That was a sign of just how dangerous the Dutchman can be when the pressure is off and Mervyn King will have his work cut out for him tonight. It also makes this an extremely tricky match odds market to get involved with, and one that is probably best avoided. Instead, a bet on van Barneveld to get the most 180’s, at 6/5 with Coral, looks to be the best play in this fixture.
The final match of the night is something of a damp squib, the type which invariably creeps up toward the end of any league campaign in any sport. Taylor is assured of top spot, Jenkins cannot qualify for the semi-finals. However, The Power knows the importance of perception and has made a career out of flexing his muscle at the right time to maintain his dominance in the game.
Don’t be surprised to see Taylor pull out a big performance in order to reassert himself after Barney’s nine-darter heroics; 8-0 and 8-1 are score lines to be on the right side of at 25/1 and 11/1 on Sportingbet. Or, if you prefer something a little less specific Taylor -4.5 legs at Evens with Ladbrokes also looks generous.
Recommended Bets;
Back Lewis to beat Baxter @ 2.0
Back van Barneveld to hit most 180’s @ 6/5
Back Taylor 8-0 & 8-1 @ 25/1 and 11/1
