PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS WEEK FIVE ODDS AND BETTING TIPS

The Premier League’s travelling Darts circus rolls up in Manchester this Thursday for week five of the 2010 tournament and as ever there are some intriguing matches taking place.
First up is the winless James Wade against the in-form Ronnie Baxter. Wade did manage to get his first point on the board last week against Adrian Lewis and has since commented that he is stepping up his practice regime in a bid to get back to his best. However, I can’t help but feel that this is something he should have done weeks ago and whilst it might improve his chances against ‘The Rocket’ I can’t see any justification in the 1/2 price tag that he has for this game. Baxter has defied the odds in recent weeks and produced some immaculate darts, if he can do the same again tonight then a lay of Wade at 1.5 on Betfair has to be the way forward.

The second match of the night is the biggest match of the league so far. The players occupying the top two spots in the Premier League table go head to head in a match which has more than just points at stake. Phil Taylor and Mervyn King have an age old rivalry which came to the boil in last year’s Premier League when King threw a dart over the head of Taylor as ‘The Power’ dithered in retrieving his darts from the board. If King is to claim victory tonight he will have to take full advantage of the slow starts that Taylor has been prone to over the last few weeks. Back King in the race to 3 legs at [3.3] with Betfair.
Taylor and King’s defeated opponents of week four also meet tonight as Raymond van Barneveld looks to put another dismal display behind him by beating Terry Jenkins. This is one of the most difficult games to predict as is almost any fixture which involves Barney amidst his current erratic levels of form. There was talk of him hitting a nine-darter in the practice room before his match against Taylor last week but he showed little sign of that when he took to the stage. Yet on the other hand it is not forgotten that when he is on song there is nobody in the world who can stop him. I’m willing to give him another chance tonight at odds of 5/4 but mine along with many others’ is a patience which is wearing thin.
Recommended Bets:
