PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS WEEK SIX TIPS AND LATEST ODDS

“I love it when a plan comes together” are the words of Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith, and although I hadn’t been watching reruns of The A-Team on Bravo for a good couple of hours that was the quote racing around my head after last week’s Premier League Darts action. All suggested bets came through on a week which went uncharacteristically as expected, and here’s hoping for more of the same this week.

Phil Taylor assumes an unfamiliar role of being involved in the first game of the night against Terry Jenkins this evening. The Power lost his 100% record in last week’s fixture against Mervyn King but bounced back in the way that only he can by winning both PDC Pro Tour events over the weekend. He won the second of those by beating James Caven 6-0 with an amazing 121 average; ominous statistics for Jenkins and his fans. Those who don’t mind backing 1.2 (1/5) shots should take full advantage of that price on Taylor tonight and those looking for something a little more substantial should back Taylor -4.5 legs  at 2.0, both with Betfair.
Following that match is Raymond van Barneveld against Mervyn King. A difficult one to predict considering King took a point from Taylor last week and Barneveld recorded the highest average of the tournament soon after, suggesting that both are nearing their top form. Consistency has been a major problem for Barney in recent months but if he is getting back to his best then he beats King comfortably and for that reason I have to side with the Dutchman at the slightly bigger odds of 2.5 (6/4).
The third match of the night is between the in-form Ronnie Baxter and the unpredictable Adrian Lewis. The equation here is rather simple, if Lewis plays to his best he wins at a canter even if Baxter continues throwing the great darts that he has been doing. Unfortunately, trying to predict which Lewis will turn up is anything but simple. I’d advise anyone to stay clear of the match odds market on this one because it is simply too hard to predict and instead back Baxter to hit the most 180’s at odds of around 3.0 (2/1).
Recommended Bets:
Back Taylor -4.5 legs @ 2.0
Back van Barneveld to beat King @ 2.5
Back Baxter to hit most 180’s @ 3.0
