PREMIER LEAGUE LATEST TIPS FOR TUESDAY NIGHTS ACTION
Tuesday night’s Premier League action sees many of the league’s poorest travellers take to the road in search of much needed victories but there doesn’t appear to be much hope for travelling fans tonight.
Bolton are the latest team to be tasked with coming away with three points from Eastlands where Manchester City haven’t lost since April 2009. They come in search of their first away win since Owen Coyle’s appointment but Burnley fans will no doubt tell you that away wins aren’t Coyle’s forte. It looks a tough task for the away side and although the price of 1.5 (1/2) with Betfair isn’t going to make you rich over night I can’t see anything other than a comfortable win for Roberto Mancini’s men. If you’re looking for slightly more substantial odds then the 2.3 (13/10) on City -1.5 in the Asian Handicap market looks a decent bet too.
Another side who have struggled on their travels this season are Stoke, in fact struggle might be a bit of an understatement; they have scored a menial four goals in 11 games on the road with just one win to boot. Wigan are their hosts this Tuesday and are in desperate need of a win themselves in order to move clear of the relegation zone. Backing the home side at 2.25 (5/4) may seem a little short at first glance given that they have won just six point from their last nine games, but that doesn’t tell the whole story, they are a team who can compete with and beat any team on their home patch and I fancy them to take all three points tonight.
Sunderland haven’t won away from the Stadium of Light since the opening day of the season and Steve Bruce really needs to get their second win tonight in order to relieve some pressure. Portsmouth meanwhile are awaiting for a court decision regarding a winding-up petition from HRMC which if comes in before the end of the day could have a major effect on the atmosphere at Fratton Park and thus on the result of the game. Such is the poor form of both these sides I would advise staying away from the match odds betting and focusing on the goals betting. Sunderland’s defence has been much tighter over the last two games and Pompey have been lacklustre in front of goal so under 2.5 goals at 1.75 (3/4) with Betfair looks the play here.
Burnley make up the quartet of teams who are struggling on the road and are the worst offenders having picked up just one point from 12 games. Fulham haven’t been in great form of late either but remain solid at home, I’ll plump for a narrow home win here and you can back 1-0 at 7.0 (6/1) and 2-0 at 8.0 (7/1) with Betfair.
The law of averages suggests that one of these teams will buck their losing trend on the road but football doesn’t tend to adhere to the law of averages, it has its own set of laws
